Hello August and all Solidres users, we are excited to announce that Solidres mobile app will be available soon for testing, it is one of the most interesting projects that we’ve been working so far, and we now reach the state that public testing is possible.
Solidres mobile app will be available for both iOS and Android users, beta testing will be announced soon for limited user groups before we can roll out official releases.
In the next major Solidres release, property owner can define a new custom field type for guest profile in backend: File upload, this new field type is very useful if the owner want to require guest digital documents like: passport or government ID to confirm the reservations.
This new feature will require Solidres v2.9.0 (the next major release) and Custom Field plugin v1.1.0.
Tags is one of the new features that we’ve been working on. It will be available for both properties and experiences with the Joomla com_tags integration. So what are tags’ use cases?
In Solidres, you can assign one category for your properties or experiences, it is good enough for many users, but others need an ability to assign properties and experiences to multiple categories. We can extend the current category system to support multiple category assignments, however, we think it is better to utilize Joomla’s com_tags for this purpose as it offers more flexibility and it also reduces the complexity for us to refactor the current category system.
We are happy to announce the release of Solidres for Joomla 2.8.0, this is the first major release in 2019 with a lot of new features, improvements and bug fixes. In addition to that we also release new versions for commercial plugins and modules, detailed change log can be found below:
At first, it sounds like a database setup, but it is not. Master/Slave mode is the new feature for Solidres 2.8.0 (Joomla), this new feature is very useful when you want to rent your apartment as a whole unit or as separated rooms at the same time, that means if your apartment is unavailable then all rooms must not be bookable, and if one of your rooms is unavailable then your apartment must be unavailable too. The apartment is the “Master” room type and other dependent room types are “Slave” in this setup.
Actually, we implemented this feature last year, however it does not allow setting different prices for different rooms with that setup therefore we improved it further by introducing this Master/Slave mode.
