Calculation of costs for extras was created by tkalkuhl
Hi,

I have defined an extra, e.g. "Half pension" for a cost of 10€

When making a room reservation for e.g. a double room, 4nights at 72€ per night for two persons, I select "Half pension" and quantity "2"

Calculated room price: 288,- € (still step one, price is correct)

Step two:
At "Enhance your stay" the selected extra is displayed as deselected with quantity 1 - that is not correct
So I select the extra, set quantity to "2" enter my contact data and proceed to step three

Step three:
Total extra cost: 40 € - but should be PERSONS x NIGHTS x PRICE =2 x 4 x 10 = 80,-

Moving back to step one, and then unchecking the extra at "Enhance yout stay" in step two, the price is calculated at 20,- € (which is still not what I wanted)

Finally I make the reservation, to see whats in the e-mail and the reservation entry in the backend:

In the mail I see a "Grand Total" of 288,- € , so extra cost is not included :o

In the "Room/Extra Info" section the selected extra is listed with quantity 2 and price 10 - which can be irritating

In the backend "Grand Total" is 288,- , extra costs are missing
And in the extra section quantity is 2 and price 10,-

Regardless if I set the "charge type" of the extra to "per room" or "per booking", behaviour is the same.

So, from my point of view:
- Extras should be calculated per room/booking per night
- Extras should not be shown as unchecked in reservation process step two. If I check in step two, extra is calculated twice (double price), which is not, what customer will expect...
- Extra cost should be included to the grand total price shown in e-mail and backend
- Maybe label for extra price should be "single unit price" or something like that

Hi,

What is the charge type of extra item "Half pension" , is it per booking or per room? It can not at the same time displayed in both room form (step 1) and guest form (step 2)

of course it is not half pension, but half board :D "Half Board" in german is "Halb-Pension" - that's why ;-)

So, if I set it to "per room" it does not show up in step 2.
If I set it up to "per booking" it shows up in step 1 AND 2

that is the only difference I can see - calculated prices are still not calculated per night...

So if you set it to "per booking", did you also uncheck it in your room type as well?

no, I did not ...because that was just for testing, and the extra actually is per room... if I do, it shows only up in step two - but calculated price is still wrong.

But to be honest - I would expect the extra to be hidden in step one if set to "per booking", regardless of checked or unchecked in the room type definition...

Hi,

We've made a modification to change the way extra item's price is calculated, now it is multiplied with the number of nights B)

Yes it could be less confused for users, we will address them in the next release ;)
