We’ve added a new Tour feature for our live demo, Luxuria (Bundle + Hub) is the first template that implemented this feature. It helps improving the overall user experience with our live demo. At this moment the Tour is applied for home page and reservation page only.

According to Joomla official website, Joomla 2.5 will reach its end of life on Dec 31, 2014, that means all Joomla 2.5 websites will not receive any updates including security updates. If your website still runs Joomla 2.5, make sure that you upgrade it as soon as possible. If you are planning to start a new Joomla site, make sure that you choose Joomla 3 to avoid unnecessary upgrade later.

You should be careful when choosing a 3rd extensions to install into your Joomla site, avoid all Joomla 2.5 compatible only extensions: there is no point to choose them, we’ve seen a lot of users who stuck with Joomla 2.5 because of some 3rd extension developers do not upgrade their extensions for Joomla 3.

Joomla 3.4 stable is finally available and Solidres is fully compatible with it. All Joomla users are recommended to upgrade as soon as possible. If you are using Joomla previous version of Joomla 3.x, doing upgrade is very easy with one-click upgrade. If you are still using Joomla 2.5, you should consider upgrade to Joomla 3 as soon as possible.

We are in the process of finalizing Solidres v0.8.1 as well as releasing new updates for commercial plugins, we also re-package our template quickstarts to newest version of Solidres and Joomla, please stay tuned for more news.

Joomla! 3.9 RC was released on Oct 10, 2018 and we’ve been busy testing it. The Joomla! Core Team and community members have put a lot of effort into it, especially the new Privacy Suite which is the highlight of this release. We’ve completed the integration with Joomla! 3.9 new Privacy Suite, when Joomla! 3.9 Stable released, we will release a new Solidres version which has full support for it. We strongly recommend all users to use the new Privacy Suite instead of other 3rd extensions.

Another exciting new feature is the new Log Rotation plugin, it offers basic log rotation functionality for a Joomla! site, if you need more advanced log rotation functionality, Sidekick is a good choice for you.

Dependent on your current installed Joomla 3rd extensions, upgrading from Joomla 3 to Joomla 4 could be a very simple or complicated task. It is a major update, so please plan for it carefully, always make a complete backup of your site first (files + database), and perform the upgrade in a test/staging site before the production site.

For Solidres, it is best to upgrade Solidres and all Solidres extensions (templates/modules/plugins) to the latest versions that were released before Nov 30, 2022. Then upgrade to Joomla 4 and Solidres and all Solidres extensions that were released after Nov 30, 2022.

For other Joomla extensions installed on your site, it is best to consult the developer for more information. You can also disable all of them before upgrading to Joomla 4 to avoid potential incompatibility issues.

Joomla 3 UI is built upon Bootstrap framework v2 while the upcoming Joomla 4 UI is built upon Bootstrap framework v5, they have so many differences and it is a challenge for extension developers like us. To maintain a high-quality product, starting from Solidres for Joomla v2.12+ we will provide official support only for Bootstrap 2 (if you use Joomla 3) and Bootstrap 5 (if you use Joomla 4). That means we will drop support for other intermediate Bootstrap versions that Joomla does not support like Bootstrap v3 and v4.

Today (10/11/12) is a special date for Solidres Team, we are happy to announce the first public version of Solidres is released (v0.1.1). This beta version should be used for preview purpose and it is not yet ready for production deployment. We’d love to hear your feedback and we are constantly looking forward to make Solidres better.

Our first task to get Solidres released is done however we still have a lot of works to do, in the upcoming weeks we will focus on fixing bugs, adding features as well improve the documentation (which need a lot of work we know)

Those are two very different jobs — so we’ve split them into two purpose-built tools, and rebuilt both from the ground up. Pricing is the engine room of every booking site. So we rebuilt Solidres’ most important pricing tool — the Complex Tariff editor — completely from scratch. Say hello to the new Rate Plan plugin: same powerful rates, a faster and far friendlier editor — arriving with the upcoming Solidres 4.1.0 release.

The Solidres integration with MyAllocator.com reaches end of life on 1 October 2026. From that date MyAllocator can no longer be used as a provider in the Solidres Channel Manager plugin, and synchronisation stops. If your property syncs through MyAllocator today, you have about five weeks to move to the Solidres Channel Manager or to Beds24.

Since Experience v0.7.0 release, we added a new feature to show associated accommodations for an experience (tour & activity). You can edit your experience item, in tab Publishing select accommodations that are associated with your experience items, then in front end of your experience item, each accommodation will be displayed as a separated tab which shows some basic information about the accommodation.

Beds24 is the second channel manager integration for Solidres, now users can choose the favorite channel manager to provide the inventory/rate synchronization capability for Solidres. We received many questions from our users, especially from apartment owners who want to allow guest to rent their apartment in full (all rooms) at a discount rate or guest can rent separated rooms. It is now possible with the new Complex Tariff plugin and Solidres for Joomla 2.7.0. New Complex Tariff plugin has a new tariff type called “Per room type per stay” that allows owners to set a special discount rate if guest book the entire apartment, it is very convenient and easy to set up.

We’ve added a new feature for Experience plugin so that it allows booking per time slots and per resource. A resource is a general term and the exact meaning depends on your business type. If your business is about travel, then resource could be your tour guide. If the system you want to build is for dental appointment making, then resource is the doctor. There are many use cases for this new Experience feature.

The Custom field is one of the features that Solidres users use the most. However the current custom field feature is limited to customer’s fields only, now we are improving it to add support for room form as well, it will allow the administrator to define custom fields for room form easily, just like the customer’s fields. This new feature will be available for Custom Field plugin 1.0.0 and Solidres for Joomla 2.8.0.

Since Experience plugin v1.4.0, we added a new feature to allow experience owner to insert their custom tabs, this feature is very useful if you want to show extra content in front end to end users in separated new tab without having to modify the layout files. To use it, first make sure that you are using Experience plugin v1.4.0+, then edit your experience item > Custom tab and add new tab there.

Since Solidres 3.3.0 BETA, you can now test the new Dynamic deposit feature. It can be activated from your property > Publishing > Enable dynamic deposit, from there you can define multiple deposit amounts based on the interval between the reservation created date and the arrival.

It is a new feature for Hub plugin: Embedded Check Availability form. Now Hub owner can allow partner to embed a check availability form into partner’s external sites, the embedded form will forward all booking request to Hub site and forwarded guests will complete reservation in Hub site instead of partner’s external site. This is not only a great way to increase traffic and revenue for Hub site but also a convenient way for partner to have an internet booking engine integrated in their site.

In the next major Solidres release, property owner can define a new custom field type for guest profile in backend: File upload, this new field type is very useful if the owner want to require guest digital documents like: passport or government ID to confirm the reservations.

This new feature will require Solidres v2.9.0 (the next major release) and Custom Field plugin v1.1.0.

This new Solidres for Joomla plugin automatically suggest alternative available dates for your guest if their searched dates are unavailable, it provides significant improvements for both owners and guests: owners have a greater opportunity to retain guests instead of losing them while guests can choose another dates to stay at their favorite accommodations instead of having to spend their valuable time to find another one.
