Alongside Solidres 4.7.0 come 20 add-on releases. Hub partners get the new reservation list and reservation screen, Invoice and Feedback send their emails in the new design and you word them on the Emails screen, and Conversion tracking moves its settings into Solidres Options, where it can wait for the new cookie banner. Most of these releases also carry security fixes, so we recommend updating them all.

Hub 2.5.0

Partners on the administrator's screens

Partners now work with their bookings on the same screens you do, limited to their own properties. The reservations list has the quick filters All, Arrivals today, Departures today and In-house, counted on the partner's properties, the status badges and the check-in and check-out ranges. A booking opens on its summary above the tabs, with the figures changed from the keyboard, the sections add-ons add, such as the tours booked with the stay, and the files attached to notes. Only what you handle yourself, such as commissions, stays off the partner's screen.

The administrator's reservation screen for booking DEMO0021: a summary above the tabs with the property, the check-in and check-out dates, the guest's contact details, the grand total, what was paid, the balance due and the payment status, then the tabs General, Invoice info, Payment history, Notes, Commissions and Stream, and the General info block

Because the partner's screens are now the administrator's, every fix to them reaches partners too. Managing reservations covers what partners get, and Initial configuration for Hub plugin is updated for 2.5.0.

Also in the Hub

  • Export works: the partner's Export to CSV downloads the chosen bookings. It ended in an error page.
  • Subscriptions paid by PayPal: a subscription is activated only by a PayPal payment made for it that covers its price, and paying once no longer activates it twice. PayPal's notices, refunds included, are used only when the plugin has its Webhook ID, so set it: see Before you update.
  • Smaller fixes: a partner with no booking yet sees a page that says so, the table scrolls on a phone, and the coupon form lists the customer groups.

Experience 2.5.0

  • Tours with a stay on the new screens: partners see the tours booked with a stay on their reservation screen, and guests see them as a block of their booking on Manage booking.
  • Paying the balance: a tour booking with something still to pay offers PayPal, and card payment with Stripe for Experience 2.2.0, on its tracking page. On Joomla 6 the page showed no payment form.
  • One time format: every departure time follows Time format 24h in Solidres Options, from the booking form to the voucher, and an afternoon time no longer reads 15:00 PM.
  • Guides by name: a time slot's guide is picked from a list of names, and the booking form lists only the guides with a time slot on the chosen day.
  • The calendar works again: the tour bookings calendar shows its bookings, and its filters and booking dialog work.

Invoice 2.2.0 and Feedback 2.2.0

The email that sends a guest their invoice and the email asking for a review now have the design of the other booking emails, and you word them on Solidres → Emails, per property and per language, like the confirmations. The invoice email names the attached file and shows the invoice number, with {{ invoice_number }} among its values. In the review request, the review link is a button below your message, so guests get it whatever the message says.

  • Payment reminder: Invoice's reminder before arrival fills in every value of Insert a value, in the guest's language, and one reminder that fails no longer stops the others.
  • Registration card: the card designer drags rows, columns and fields with Joomla's own drag and drop, as Solidres 4.7.0 no longer loads jQuery UI.
  • Voting on reviews: the like and dislike buttons failed on every Joomla 6 release of Feedback. They work again, one vote per person, with no IP address kept.

Conversion tracking 1.1.0

Conversion tracking's settings are now a tab of Solidres Options, so a hotel manager who cannot open Joomla's Plugins screen can connect Google Analytics, an ad pixel or any other tool. The update copies every setting over. With Solidres 4.7.0, a new consent tool, Solidres cookie banner, holds the tags back until the guest accepts, and the banner then asks on the booking pages, before the guest books. On a new site the data layer stays off until you switch it on. See How to configure conversion tracking.

Smaller releases

What changed in the smaller releases for Solidres 4.7.0
Release What changed
Stripe for Experience 2.2.0 A card payment settles only the tour booking it was made for, and with Experience 2.5.0 the balance of a tour booking can be paid by card.
Custom Fields 2.0.3 Reads the custom field columns of a page of reservations in one query, which makes the 4.7.0 list fast, and shows every saved value as text.
Offline 1.0.2 No longer asks for, keeps or emails the card's security code, and its update removes the codes already stored.
PayPal 2.0.2 No longer writes its access token to the log.
Housekeeping 2.0.4 The partner's list applies its search, filters and sort, with dropdown lists for the property and room type, and the Excel export works with any property name.
iCal 3.1.2 Imports feeds only from http and https addresses on the public internet.
Rate Plan 1.2.1, Front Desk 1.1.2, Dashboard 1.1.2 Install, disabled, on an older Solidres that still has Complex Tariff or Statistics, so that site can update to 4.7.0 in one go. Front Desk's quick booking finds customers again and fills in their details.
ResCode 1.0.2 A code too long for the booking keeps the standard code, so the booking keeps its rooms; a code in use gets x1, x2 after it; and {RANDOM} is random.
Flex Search 1.0.4 Signed-in customers see their customer group's prices in the results.
Advanced Extra 1.0.4 The available dates of an extra are picked in the range picker's calendar, as the Legacy date picker is gone.
Discount 1.0.5, Limit Booking 2.0.5, ACL 1.0.3 Security fixes for sites with the Hub or Experience: see below.

Security

These releases close the issues our security review found in the add-ons. The main ones:

  • Partners' data: a Hub partner could open, change or delete what belonged to other partners: room types, coupons, extras, discounts, booking limits, rate plans, rooms in Housekeeping and Front Desk, staff, reviews, and tour extras and coupons. Each partner now reaches only their own.
  • Payments: a tour booking could be confirmed by a PayPal payment sent to another account, or by a Stripe card payment made for a different booking, and a Hub subscription by a PayPal payment far below its price. Each payment now counts only for the booking or subscription it was made for, and in full.
  • Guest text: what a guest types, custom field values and reviews included, is shown as text on every screen, email and PDF, and PDFs no longer run script or fetch images from other sites.
  • Card details: no booking keeps a card security code any more, and Experience no longer stores the card a guest typed for other card gateways.
  • Tour bookings and invoices: a customer's tour list and the guest export hold only what the user may see, and a tour invoice opens only for its partner or customer.
  • Imports and links: iCal fetches feeds only from public addresses, and review and tour booking links are random.

Before you update

  • Update Solidres first. Hub 2.5.0, Experience 2.5.0, Invoice 2.2.0 and Feedback 2.2.0 need Solidres 4.7.0 and refuse to install on an older one. Update them right after it: under 4.7.0, an older Hub's check-in buttons are refused, an older Invoice's card designer loses its drag and drop, and older Invoice and Feedback send their emails in the old design.
  • Update together: Custom Fields 2.0.3 and ACL 1.0.3 with Experience 2.5.0, and Stripe for Experience 2.2.0 with it if you take tour payments by card.
  • PayPal webhook ID for Hub subscriptions: if partners pay subscriptions with PayPal, set the Webhook ID from your PayPal Developer Dashboard in the Hub's PayPal subscription plugin, or PayPal's notices are ignored. Check your active subscriptions against your PayPal account.
  • Emails you changed: overrides of Invoice's and Feedback's PHP email layouts, and language overrides of their email strings, are no longer read. Move your change to the Emails screen, as Wording the emails your guests receive shows.
  • Images in PDFs: invoices, vouchers and commission notes show images from your own site only. One hosted elsewhere, on a CDN for example, no longer appears.
  • Card details: after updating Offline and Experience, delete old booking emails and backups that hold card details.
  • Template overrides: the Hub's reservation list and screen now draw the administrator's files, and the update deletes seven of the Hub's own reservation templates. Layouts also changed in Experience, Invoice, Feedback and Housekeeping. The System page flags any override that needs updating.

How to get them
