did find a solution? I have the same issue. testmails from the joomla configuration goes out successfully

Have you activated the option: Approval of Reservation in the backend?
If Yes the the Reservation has to be approved in the Backend first. Then you can sent emails from there.
If set to No the confirmation mails are sent automatically.
