How does Authorize.net plugin work? Meaning, would I have to pay for a monthly subscription on their website or is it a one-time purchase through Solidres.com?

Hi,
The purchase at solidres.com is for Authorize.net payment plugin which you can download and install to your Joomla site to integrate Solidres with Authorize.net, you still need to pay Authorize.net's fees.
