Please, add a 4th PDF invoice style option : custom was created by Artech
"invoice_customer_pdf_layout_4.php" or "invoice_customer_pdf_layout_custom.php"
As all 3 layouts are far from acceptable, letting us rework the invoice.php file to our need thus preventing it from being overwritten by updates.

Hi,
At this moment, you can just copy one of the invoice layout to your template override folder and make modification to suit your needs, then it won't be overwritten during Solidres upgrade.
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/html/layouts/com_solidres/invoices/invoice_customer_pdf_layout_1.php"
Template override is one of the best Joomla feature therefore we'd recommend you to use it instead of adding a new feature.
