Custom field: new type for alpha only field with fixed length

hope someone can help me, i want to change some text field in customers information form to numeric only. as the default all text field are alphanumeric and i want to change some of the text field into numeric only like the landline number and mobile number text field. also i want put some limit on the other text field, like the mobile number text field which i only want to have a limit of 11 digits
