Add/Edit Custom Fields was created by donaldmoore
There seem to be some custom fields for both the Assets and the Rooms. What is the best way to modify these custom fields? Is there plans in the future to extend SolidRes to allow users to create their own custom fields? If not, no problem we can modify it. I'd just like to know the best way to do this that will survive an update.

Hi,
The custom fields are managed via XML files, this is the standard way that Joomla provide to manage custom fields:
www.solidres.com/documentation/13-config...to-add-custom-fields
You can see that com_users in Joomla is using this way. We know that modifying a XML files requires some technical experience and it is not very user friendly. The above tutorial will guide you through the processing of adding a new custom field, please try and if you have any questions just let us know.
Improving Custom fields feature is in our plan but since its priority is quite low comparing to other tasks due to low demand from our users.
Regards,

Thank you for your guidance with the custom fields, I was able to make those changes. Will those changes be overwritten with an update?

Hi,
Yes, it will be overwritten therefore please make a backup first before making any upgrades so that you can restore it later.
