Discount and coupon toghether

Hi,
Is it possible to have disounts and coupon toghether?
I have some discounts that is fixed for an asset.
In such case I need to give a special coupon to the customer. So, the customer must to have the price discounted by discount and by coupon togheter.
I've tried but the frontend system tell me thatthe coupon is accepted but I can't see any further discount.
