Intro image disappearing in translated version of the article

On the home page (dev.primephotonics.com/index.php/en/) I translated the bottom-area article called “Research Areas”. I switched the language to English instead of all, then created the French translation, which creates a connected article called “Recherche”. I translated the text, then saved, but the image did not display on the French home page. I assigned the picture (tech-dev-400.jpg) to the French page, and it removed it from the English page. I cannot get the picture to display in both languages, assigning it to one removes it from the other. I am setting the images in the intro image in the "Images and Links" tab of the article. Has anyone else come across this issue?
