Trashed and cancelled reservations

In addition to the SMS query, when I showed the dashboard to our guesthouse manager he asked if it possible to not see the trashed and cancelled reservations in the calendar?

He said that he's not always there and other staff may mistake these items for booked rooms and turn away potential guests.

Is there a way to do this already (even back-end for now if necessary), or something that can be added - maybe the Colour key above the calendar could be clickable on/off, like google calendars?

At the moment, all I can suggest to him is to trash, then empty the trash - but I know that our board will be interested in seeing the stats of cancellations.

You only need to make a minor modification to the SQL query so that Statistics plugin does not load trashed and canceled reservations.
