price displayed without tax though tax is mandator was created by websquirrel
Hi,
after finding available rooms, the prices are displayed without tax though a tax with tax rate is defined!
This does not match with EU-laws. All prices must be displayed with tax included for consumers, if taxes are mandatory. It is not enough to charge taxes in the very last step of booking process. We need to show the full price with taxes included from the start.
Please fix that.
Regards.

Hi,
How about adding tax right into your room tariff and disable all other taxes so that they will not be shown in the confirmation screen?
Thank you.

Hi, this is no good idea, because invoice should break down tax correctly
The point is: invoice and website should display correct prices. Website all prices with tax included, and invoice with correct tax in separate line, too, of course
Why not displaying prices correctly including tax if tax is entered? This is the best and correct way how to handle that, especially in hotel business, where it is courteous to show prices with tax included always and everywhere.

Hi,
We will add a new option to allow site admin to configure whether to show room price with or without tax. This will be available soon in the next update of 0.6.0.
Thank you

Thank you, that works in 0.6.0 so far. But only for room costs. And only if tax is active. If you set options "show price with tax" to no, tax line is still displayed with price "0" in each row. This is irritating. I think the best solution would be, to erase tax break down in overview but to calculate price correctly with or without tax (as set in options) instead. For example if room price is 50 and tax 0.1 there should be just 55,- in overview (with tax) or 50 ,-(without tax). Keep it simple
What about extras? They have taxes, too. And it is even more complex: extras (like services, food and non-food) usually have different tax rates than rooms. At least here in Europe, where different tax rates for different product classes are common.
And there is another tax here in Europe: visitor's tax! Visitor's tax usually is a fix amount (dependent to season) per person per day. Contrary to value added tax for the rest (rooms, food, non-food, services) which is usually percentage. To make it even more complicated: Some people are free, they do not need to pay visitor's tax (children, some professions like policemen, military or volunteers, etc.).
So we actually need different sorts of taxes, with different tax rates, correctly calculated and displayed in overview as well as in invoice break down.
