If you are using Linux server, make sure all files and folders permissions are set correctly.
GD is a PHP library which is needed for Media Manager to work correctly. What is your current PHP setting max upload size? Make sure you only upload file smaller than the limit.

First, it is better that you provide more information by answering my questions in order to debug this issue, several hosting providers have some configuration issue which could cause uploading failed.

If you are Solidres subscriber, you can raise a support ticket with server access details like FTP/SSH/admin account then we can log in your server and debug it for you.
