Customer not receiving email notification after booking when paying online

Hi,
When customer makes a booking online in off peak tariff, customer receives email notification of booking.
When customer is asked to pay a deposit on complex tariff, the owner receives paypal receipt but does not receive a booking confirmation.
Also when customer books in off peak season (not complex tariff) and decides to pay online, they still do not receive an email notification about booking.
Look forward to any help on this topic.
