New releases for Hub, Experience, Feedback and Rate Plan
Four Solidres add-ons have new releases: Hub 2.2.0, Experience 2.1.0, Feedback 2.1.0 and Rate Plan 1.1.1. The biggest change is how three of them install: Hub, Experience and Feedback now each come as one Joomla package. There is also a new Hub module, partner sign-up for new visitors, tour booking in every language and a long list of fixes. All four need Solidres 4.3.0.
One package per add-on
Until now, Hub and Experience were each a plugin that quietly installed some of its companions, while other parts were separate downloads you had to find. Joomla did not know those extensions belonged together, so an update reached only what you downloaded, and uninstalling the plugin left the rest behind.
Each add-on is now a single Joomla package that installs, updates and uninstalls as a unit:
| Package | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Hub 2.2.0 | The Hub plugin, its scheduled task plugin, the PayPal and mobilPay subscription gateways and eight site modules |
| Experience 2.1.0 | The Experience plugin, its invoice plugin, the Bank Wire, Pay Later, Offline and PayPal payment gateways and eight site modules |
| Feedback 2.1.0 | The Feedback plugin and the Feedback module |
Install a package over your current setup and it takes over the extensions already there, with nothing to migrate. After that, the whole add-on updates from the Joomla updater. That is new for Feedback, whose plugin never had an update server, and for the Experience invoice plugin and modules, which used to be separate downloads.
Hub 2.2.0
The Hub gets a new Property Types module. It shows your property types as tiles, each with its image, the number of properties it holds and a link to the matching search results. You choose which types to show and in what order.
Visitors without an account can now sign up to a plan. The form used to fail with an error and leave an incomplete subscription behind. A free plan skips the payment step, so partners can join a site that has no subscription gateway set up. On sites with search engine friendly URLs, every Subscribe link on the plans page now opens the plan’s sign-up form instead of a “page not found” error.
- Partner profile: lists every published property the partner owns or works on as staff, the count matches the list, and the Show map link opens the map.
- Price filter: on a Hub with properties in several currencies, prices are converted into the filter’s currency before they are compared, so each price range matches the right properties.
- Search links: a city or category that has no menu item of its own stays in the link instead of being dropped.
- Filter module: its script loads again, and it only appears on the search results page, so property pages no longer show an empty “Filter” box.
- Location Map module: follows the site’s map provider, so sites on OpenStreetMap get a map instead of a warning about a missing Google API key. Scrolling the page past a map no longer zooms it until the map is clicked.
- Assets module: an apartment’s room count and occupancy fit on one line, and long titles and descriptions are shortened, so the cards in a row stay the same height.
- Headings and accessibility: the search results, destination, property type and plans pages show the menu item’s Page Heading as an H1 when “Show Page Heading” is on, and use its meta description. Filter headings and toggles work with a keyboard and a screen reader, the headings are styled in every template, and the distance slider is labelled. Each “Read more” link in the Assets module names its property for screen readers.
- Wording: the Advanced Search, Assets and My Recent Searches modules say “Check-in”, “Check-out” and “Search” like the rest of Solidres, and the empty search form shows “Location” instead of a raw language key.
- Script error: “Solidres is not defined” is gone from pages that show the Filter module, such as the booking confirmation, and from the partner’s tour form.
- Dark mode: the subscription screens are now readable.
Experience 2.1.0
The most important fix is for multilingual sites. For a tour in a language other than the site’s default, the booking form and the payment options stayed stuck loading, and coupon messages came back in the default language. Booking and checkout now work for tours in every language.
- Confirmation page: shows the success message you set for the chosen payment method, not always the default text.
- Invoices: the tour invoice lists in the front end, for partners and for guests, load correctly and their invoice buttons work.
- Experience List module: the “Menu item Id” setting now decides where tour links point, the module no longer errors on pages outside Solidres, and shortened descriptions end with one ellipsis, not two.
- Experience Search module: the horizontal layout puts its fields in one row again, and every label is tied to its field.
- Module styles: the Experience List, Search and Categories modules load their styles on every page, and the Categories module no longer errors on pages that had not loaded them already.
- Edit screens: the Discount and Guide screens use the full page width, and the partner’s tour form in the front end loads the Hub styles and scripts again.
- Headings and accessibility: the tour list and tour tracking pages show the menu item’s Page Heading as an H1 when “Show Page Heading” is on, and the property social links have accessible names.
- Dark mode: the Experience screens and dashboard are now readable.
Feedback 2.1.0
- Feedback edit screen: every field loads, fields that hold several values no longer cause an error, and the toolbar shows a proper title instead of a raw language key.
- Admin titles: the feedback, condition, type and type value screens have translated toolbar titles, and the type values list uses the full page width.
- Carousel: reviews in the Feedback module’s carousel layout advance on their own again. The module’s type setting and its options are translated.
- Structured data: the property’s structured data, rating included, is output once by Solidres. The plugin no longer adds a second copy for search engines to reconcile.
- Dark mode: the Feedback screens are now readable.
Rate Plan 1.1.1
- Apartment page: the booking form uses the modern range picker, like the other booking pages. It was the last one still on the old jQuery UI picker.
- Rate plan editor: rows are reordered by dragging their handle, so you can now select and copy a rate plan’s name.
Security
Hub 2.2.0 and Experience 2.1.0 both include security fixes, and we recommend updating:
- Crafted links: a crafted link could inject script into the Hub search form and its sort links, and into the Experience tour booking form. The page address is now escaped on both.
- Hub map popups: quotes or tags in property details can no longer break the location map or inject markup. On a Hub, partners edit their own property details, so this one matters.
- Experience invoices: the invoice of a deleted tour reads its stored tour details safely, so tampered data cannot be abused.
Before you update
- Update Solidres first. All four releases need Solidres 4.3.0.
- Other requirements: Hub 2.2.0 also needs the Custom Field plugin. Experience 2.1.0 needs the Custom Field plugin and the Solidres Dompdf Library.
- Template overrides: the Hub’s partner profile and Assets module layouts have changed. Update any overrides of them to get these fixes.
How to get them
